Obituary of Lester Allen Burge

Funeral services for Lester Allen Burge, age 68, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Burge, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Francis North Hospital. He was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Francis Burge; and two sisters, Flora Stanley and Maxine Price. He is survived by four daughters, Suzanne Frank and husband David, Deidra Wilson and husband Donald, Connie Wheeler and husband David, Bonnie Fiquet and husband Paul, all of Los Lunas, NM; two sisters, Annie Bell Day and Dianne Halterman, both of Bastrop, LA; three brothers, Edward R. Burge, Jr. of Wisconsin, Andrew Burge of Sterlington, LA, Robert Burge of Monroe, LA; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Day, Dewey Diel, Darrell Stanley, Justin Stanley, Steven Gregory, and Robert Gray. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Burge, Andrew Burge, and special friend, Bobby Spurlock. He was loved very much by his family and friends and will not be forgotten.
