Funeral services for Barbara Elaine Matheny Rawls, age 89, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Herring Rev. Marty Black, and Rev. Willis Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rawls, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, C.T. & Katie Matheny; husband, Albert Nolan Rawls; daughter-in-law, Donna Gail Rawls; two granddaughters, Carol Ann Rawls, Wendy Gail Rawls Westbrooks; sister, Thelma Randall; and three brothers, Thomas Matheny, Claude Matheny, and Selby Matheny.
She is survived by three children, Albert Rawls, Jr. & wife Jamie, Arnold Rawls & wife Lanie, Beverly Ann Rawls Anderson and husband Bob; two brothers, Lynwood Matheny, W.M. Matheny; seven grandchildren, Albert Nolan Rawls III, Jason Rawls, Steve Anderson, Rob Anderson, David Anderson, Clay Anderson, Cheri Anderson; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons Rob Anderson, Clay Anderson, Al Rawls, Jason Rawls, P.J. Westbrooks, David Anderson, and Steve Anderson.
