Graveside services for Mr. Ray Dupree, age 84, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Marty Black officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 - 2 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Dupree, a resident of Monroe, formerly of Bastrop, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008. He was born on December 22, 1923 in Forest, LA. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Trinity Assembly of God. He was a retired employee of International Paper Company with 37 years of service. Mr. Dupree is preceded in death by a son, Rick W. Dupree; parents, William & Sarah Davis Dupree; brothers, Clyde Dupree, George Dupree, William "Bill" Dupree, twin brothers, Wilford and Wilton Dupree; sister, Birdie Turner; his twin sister, Rachel Nix; and half-brother, James Dupree. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Silmon Dupree; two sons, Mitch Dupree of Beaumont, TX, Steve Dupree & wife Rhonda of Bastrop, LA; sister, Katherine May of St. Joseph, LA; three grandchildren, Matthew Dupree, Daniel Dupree, Phillip Dupree; and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Lester Parks, Bruce Ziegenbalg, Dr. Carter Cox, and Wayne Silmon - posthumously.
