Obituary of Cora Waites Scroggins

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Waites Scroggins, age 93, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday April 17, 2007 at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Loveday and Rev. Kelvin Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday and Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scroggins, a homemaker, passed away Saturday April 14, 2007. She was a resident of Bastrop and member of Corinth Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Scroggins; two sons, Robert Scroggins, Allen Scroggins; three grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Connie Scroggins; and son-in-law, Jimmy Bounds.
She is survived by six daughters, Myrtle Meeks & husband Henry of Bastrop, Agnes Carter of Shepherd, TX, Lois May & husband Joe of Swartz, Sue Bounds of McNeil, MS, Beatrice Nealy & husband Don of Bastrop, Bertha Fortune & husband Darwin of Ruston; three sons, Howard Scroggins & wife Martha of Bastrop, James Scroggins & wife Bonnie of Bastrop, Floyd Scroggins of Beekman; daughter-in-law, Mary Ruth Scroggins of Beekman; twenty six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, great great great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Program.
