Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Bray Mayo, age 70, of Bastrop will be Saturday December 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Jordan and Father Richard Norsworthy officiating. Interment will follow at Pinegrove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Mayo passed away December 18, 2008 at her residence. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a cosmotologist and hair stylist and owner of the Magic Mirror Beauty Salon for 40 years. Mrs. Mayo was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. George Bray; a baby son, a baby daughter, three brothers, Namon Bray, Damon Bray, Billy Bray; three sisters, Patricia Bray, Georgia Needham, and Barbara Sebren. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George "Pete" Mayo; three daughters, Cindy M. Johnson and husband Bill of Bastrop, LA, Dee Dee Mangrum and husband Marty of Denham Springs, LA, Jamie Gentry of Bastrop, LA; one son, Tommy Mack Mayo of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Ann Boykin of LaRue, TX, Teresa Zieminick of Taylorsville, GA; one brother, Jerry Bray of Bonita, LA; two special sister in laws, Dorothy Blackman of Bastrop, LA, Bessie Hayman of Bastrop, LA; brother in law, Mack Mayo of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, Jason Mayo, Eric Jones, Lindzay Wilmore, Jay Chapman, II, Emily Anthony, Trey Owens, Taylor Gentry, Mallory Mangrum; eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bobby Boykin, Donnie Burns, Jason Mayo, Eric Jones, Jay Chapman, II, Trey Owens, Greg Zieminick, Brad Zieminick. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Zieminick.
