Funeral services for Mr. Pat D. Barmore, age 81, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday January, 3, 2009, at Greenacres Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Ballard, Rev. Royce Christmas, and Rev. Jerry Price officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Pat D. Barmore, a resident of Bastrop, was born December 27, 1927 in Pioneer, LA. and passed away Thursday January 1, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. at St. Francis North Hospital, due to complications of Alzheimers. Prior to his hospital stay he was a resident of the Louisiana War Veterans Home. Mr. Barmore was a retired employee of South Central Bell after 31 years of service. He was a 1945 graduate of Oak Grove High School, and attended UCLA until he was called into military service. He served in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for almost 50 years and was honored as Deacon Emeritus for those years of faithful service to his Lord and the church.
Mr. Barmore is preceded in death by his parents, O.B. and Felece Duff Barmore; six brothers and sisters.
Mr. Barmore is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rennie Barmore; two sons, Mikie Barmore and wife Peggy of West Monroe, LA, Danny Barmore and wife Lisa of Bastrop, LA; one daughter, Kathy B. Williamson and husband Wayne of Monroe, LA; one sister, Ike Butler of Oak Grove, LA; seven grandchildren, Anna Kaye Robertson and husband Stacey of Monroe, LA, Brandon Barmore, and wife Crystal of West Monroe, LA, Peyton Barmore and Fiance' Staci of West Monroe, LA, Kaine Sanders and wife Karen of Monroe, LA, Lana Barmore of Covington, LA, Adam Barmore and wife Julia of Mangham, LA, Daniel Barmore of Covington, LA; seven step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, Cade Barmore, Avery Robertson, Patrick Sanders, Sarah Kate Barmore; and twelve step great grandchildren. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to special friends, Ronnie and Helen Hendry, and Ruth Outlaw.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and men of Greenacres Baptist Church and retirees of South Central Bell.
Memorials may be given in his honor to Greenacres Baptist Church, Bastrop, LA.
