Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Shamblin Nichols, 96, of Bastrop are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nichols, born February 10, 1910, was the longtime business owner of Ruth's Beauty Shop of Bastrop.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Wilkes and husband Jerry of Russellville, TN; two grandchildren, Jay Wilkes and wife Arlene of Russellville, TN, Kelly Bowman and husband Jim of Greeneville, TN; great grandson, Lacy Jay Bowman of Greeneville, TN; brother, George Shamblin of Bastrop, LA; sister, Beatrice Addison and husband Carl of Sterlington, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nichols is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Naomi Shamblin; granddaughter, Kristi Ruth Wilkes; sisters, Mae Potter, LaDora Shamblin; brother, Sam Shamblin and sisters-in-law, Mary Shamblin, Celeste Shamblin and Myrtis Shamblin.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Wednesday at Golden Funeral Home.
