Obituary of Myrtis McCoy Remore

Mrs. Myrtis McCoy Remore, age 87, of Bastrop, LA went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Avalon Place in Monroe. Mrs. Remore was a member of White Avenue Baptist Church and worked for many years as a sales clerk for Quenan's Jewelers before retirement.
She leaves behind a large family including five grandchildren, Lisa Kelly and Rodney Folsom of Eufaula, AL, Sara McMilleon and Sidney Scott of Monroe, LA, William and Shanna Remore of Monroe, LA, Dawn and Lee Peoples of Dallas, TX, Andrea and Stephen Nichols of Lewisville, TX; eight great grandchildren, Justin Streeter, Anna Claire Courtney, Blake McMilleon, Luke Remore, Peyton Peoples, Parker Peoples, Brianna Nichols, Brooklyn Nichols; two step great grandchildren, Katlyn Prewitt, Cade Prewitt; two great great grandchildren, Shelby Streeter, Brayden Streeter; daughter in-law, Judy Remore of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Mary Harris of Magee, MS, Dessie Horne of Liddieville, LA; brother, Claude McCoy of New Orleans, LA and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Leo Remore; son, C.L. Remore and daughter, Lillian Remore Housely.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. David Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are: Lee Peoples, David Courtney, Blake McMilleon, William Remore, Hugh Remore, Luke Remore, Charlene Horne Gomes and Stephen Nichols.
Honorary pallbearers are: Curtis Jenkins, Dennis Jenkins, Lary G. Horne, Gary L. Horne, Lee McCoy, Dewayne Harris, Jimmy Harris, Clarence Harris McCoy, Sonny Weems, Ricky McCoy, Donald McCoy, Randy McCoy and Justin Streeter.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Golden Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
