Obituary of George W. Harris

Funeral services for George W. "Joe" Harris, age 62, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday February 24, 2006 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. John Kimball officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA. Mr. Harris, a resident of Bastrop, LA passed away Monday February 20, 2006 at St. Francis North Hospital in Monroe, LA. He was a former sales manager at Dove Tire and Alignment. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benny & Audrey Faye Harris. Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 40 years, Evva Lois Harris; two daughters, Cindy Jones & husband Donnie of Bastrop, LA, Cheri Dukes & husband Joseph of Bastrop, LA; three sons, Curtis Harris & wife Lisa of Brandon, MS, Chris Harris of Bastrop, LA, Chuck Harris & wife Mandy of Bastrop, LA; five sisters, Shirley Green & husband Pat of Leesville, LA, Sharon Hughes & husband Charles of McComb, MS, Darlene Landry & husband Anthony of Biloxi, MS, Bonnie Adams & husband Buck of Smithdale, MS, Bessie Nimon & husband John of Jerry, MS; three brothers, Jimmy Harris & wife Rita of Smithdale, MS, Michael Harris & wife Linda of Brandon, MS, John Harris & wife Sherry of Pensacola, FL; eleven grandchildren, Tasha & husband Jared, Whitney, Ariel, Jordan, Savannah, Chandler, Ryan, Colton, Jake, Micah, Michael, and special friend Tom Allen. Pallbearers will be Calvin Stanley, Brandon Olivo, Craig Brown, Kevin Stephens, Kenny Gandy, Jeff Williams.
