Funeral services for Joseph Ray Brent, 67, of Bastrop will be at 10 AM Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the First Assembly of God in Bastrop, with the Revs. Nelson Jones and Jim Brent officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Brent, a retired school teacher and coach, was also a member of First Assembly of God and loved to teach Bible class on Thursdays at LeGrand Rehabilitation Center in Bastrop. He passed away Sunday March 12, 2006 at his residence.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, James Brent and Evelyn Brent Cummins.
He is survived by daughters, Susan Malanfant & husband Mike of Lake Forest, IL, Jane Ann Brent of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Brent of Pembroke Pines, FL; son, Joseph Brent of Pembroke Pines, FL; sister, Diana Brent of Sante Fe, NM; brothers, James Brent & wife Alice of Bastrop, LA, Mike Cummins & wife Joyce of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and grandchildren, Carly and Michael Malanfant of Lake Forest, IL.
Pallbearers will be:
Visitation will be from 6 PM to 9 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Rangers program at First Assembly of God.
