Obituary of Boyd Shipley

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Boyd Shipley are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at East Haven Church of God with Rev. C.S. Cascio officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Bastrop. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. at East Haven Church of God.
Mr. Shipley, age 56, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 in St. Augustine, FL. He was a member of Praiseland Worship Center. He was a devoted employee of CTL Trucking of Sterlington, LA.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Bittinger Frost.
Mr. Shipley is survived by his wife of 27 1/2 years, Connie Shipley of Bastrop;blessed with five children, James Shipley and wife Carrie of Bastrop, Kassie Shipley of Bastrop, Jason Shipley and wife Jessica of Bonita, Hannah Shipley and Leah Shipley, both of Bastrop; honored to have five grandchildren, "Sooky Lynn" Chen (Vivian), Emily Chen, Christen Shipley, Abbey Shipley, Parker Shipley; one brother, John Welton Frost, Jr. and wife Ronda of Calhoun; two sisters, Carol Martindale and husband Richard of Farmerville, Karen "Sissy" Keiffer and husband Randy of Farmerville; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; step-father, John Welton Frost, Sr. and wife Emma of Calhoun; and In-Laws, Rev. C.S. & Elaine Cascio of Bastrop and Leonard and Lorie Aulds of Farmerville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Buffy Aulds, Tony Aulds, Richard Rachall, Allen Day, Tony Tullos, and Terry Sepulvado.
Honorary pallbearers will be W.L. Martin, Richard Dokes, and Charles Hutchinson.
Boyd was a loving and devoted family man. He never met a stranger and always made everyone feel so welcome. He enjoyed making people laugh and always thought of others first. Even in his death he had the safety of others on his mind. He will be greatly missed. He was loved by many and is missed by all. "We love you Sweetie!"
