Funeral services for Mr. Columbus H. "Lum" Day, 89, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Crise officiating. Interment will follow in the Beekman Cemetery.
Mr. Day, a retired employee of Texas Gas Company and member of Beekman United Methodist Church passed away March 14, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was a serving member on the board of the Northeast Louisiana Power Coop since 1962. He also served with the Morehouse Parish Police Jury for twelve years.
Mr. Day is survived by his wife, Helen Day; two daughters, Diane DeFreese and husband Reggie of Bastrop, LA, Sheryl Anderson and husband Charles of Panama City, FL, four grandchildren, Julie Cheney, Amee Socha, Shannon Weidenhaft, Christy Anderson; four great grandchildren, Ann Marie Cheney, Audrey Cooper, George Socha and Kyleigh Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W.H. and Julia Day, two sisters and two brothers.
Serving as pallbearers are: Paul Robinson, Ray Hughes, Doug "Red" Sanders, Ronald Uptigrove, David Day and Troy McLarrin.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2005 at Golden Funeral Home.
