Obituary of Vivian Stuart

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Stuart, 83, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, April 5, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Bastrop with Dr. L.H. McCollough and Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Stuart, retired owner of Stuarts' Bastrop Automotive Repair Shop, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 in Monroe. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she ministered to the deaf for 25 years. She also played the piano at the retirement homes for years. Mrs. Stuart was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Marie Stuart of Crossett, AR; son, Herbert Irvine Stuart and wife Jeanie of Bastrop, LA; seven grandchildren, Randy Odom, Jason Stuart, Jeremy Stuart, Marty Odom, Amber Stevens, Stacci Hickingbottom, Mollie Stuart; five great grandchildren; four nephews and two nieces. Mrs. Stuart is preceded in death by her husband, David Stuart and her son, Danny Stuart. Serving as pallbearers will be Rector Hopgood, Robin Hartrick and Ricky Monk. Honorary pallbearer will be Carl Turpin, Sr. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
