Obituary of Neva M. Spigner

Funeral services for Neva M. Spigner, age 86, will be held Monday April 27, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday April 26, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Spigner, a homemaker, resident of Mer Rouge, formerly of Bastrop and a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Saturday April, 25, 2009 at the Oak Woods in Mer Rouge. She is preceded in death by a son, Troy Spigner; her parents, Rufus Perdue and Rita Foster Perdue; 2 sisters, Eva Gregory, and Noba Richardson. Mrs. Spigner is survived by her husband, Haskel Spigner; three grandchildren, David Spigner, Damon Spigner, DeAnn McCarthy; five great grandchildren, Nicklous Spigner, Robin Spigner Dickey, Lauren McCarthy, Taylor McCarthy, Dylan McCarthy; five great great grandchildren ; daughter-in-law, Faye Leachman and her husband Larry and special friend, Joe Crenshaw and his wife Kay. Pallbearers will be Joe Crenshaw, Bobby Thurman, Frank Mushinski, David Spigner, Damon Spigner and Nicklous Spigner. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Lyon, Cindy, Lori, Emily and the staff at Premiere Hospice.
