Obituary of Ruth "Biddie" Singley

Funeral services for Ruth "Biddie" Singley, 80, are schedulded for 10 a.m. Friday May 1, 2009 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. Vic Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday April 30, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Singley, a resident of Bastrop, a ticket clerk for the Old Rose Theater and a hairdresser, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2009 at Lagniappe Healthcare. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mollie Burnett; brothers, Floyd Elton Burnett, Leslie Burnett; sisters, Winnie Holland, Bessie Rea, Dora Sims, Dollie Shields, and Ruby Burnett. Mrs. Singley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Huey P. Singley; two daughters Sandra Singley Holley and husband Raymond, Teresa Singley Kelley and husband Bo; one sister, Lottie Carpenter; three grandchildren, Chris McDonald and wife Maribeth, Jason Stanley and wife Jessica, Jeff Holley; and three great grandchildren, Grant McDonald, Dakota McDonald, and Ella Stanley. Palbearers will be Kenneth Acreman, Troy Waters, Zack Wimbish, Cody Benton, Roy Cook, Alfred Lee Rea, Jerry Don Carpenter, and Jim Bonner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Herman Cox and Goodwin Gladney.
