Funeral services for Mrs. Cupid Maroney, 86, of Mountain Home, AR., formerly of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Maroney, a retired public health nurse from Morehouse parish passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Baxter Regional Hospital in Mountain Home. She was a member of the Sunnyside South Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Abram Morehouse Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mountain Home Duplicate Bridge Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda DeSoto of Mountain Home, AR, Francell M. Smith and husband Ralph of Port Aransas, TX; six grandchildren, Gloria S. Carroll and husband Stewart, Donald E. DeSoto and wife Kelly, Laura S. Ryan and husband Timothy, Cynthia A. Arnold, Troy E. DeSoto and wife Sonja, Leslie E. Herbert and husband Greg; thirteen great grandchildren, David, Stephen, Lauren and Samuel Carroll, Brandon DeSoto, Andrew and Nicholas Ryan, Patrick and Daniel Pace, Alana Arnold, Sarah DeSoto, Devin and Dalton Herbert; special lifelong friends, Daisy Boddie, James H. Boddie,Jr., Kent Charles Boddie, Reita Cockrell, Juanita Harper and Henry C. Bullock.
Mrs. Maroney is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Tulee Gahagan; husband Berry David Maroney; sister, Louvenia G. Jones and husband Hoffman; brother, Ray Hugh Gahagan and wife Dorothy and son in-law, Marion John DeSoto.
Serving as pallbearers are: Stewart Carroll, Timothy Ryan, Gregory Herbert, Donald DeSoto, Troy DeSoto and Kent Boddie.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are her great grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home.
