Funeral services for Mr. Ross Conrad Ford, Sr., age 94, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Benge officiating. Interment will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Strong cemetery near Henderson, TX. Mr. Ford passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Lagniappe Nursing Home. He was a retired measurement supervisor with 40 years of service for United Gas Pipeline Company, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Pastorial Care at Lafayette General Hospital, member of First United Methodist Church (Bastrop) and Sunday School teacher. He was very active in serving his Lord through Lay Missions and the One Thousand Club. Mr. Ford is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Garrett and husband Gale of Bastrop, LA, Deborah Kay Brumfield and husband Bruce of Varnado, LA; son, Rev. Ross Conrad Ford, Jr. and wife Gladys of LeCompte, LA; eight grandchildren, Sheri Burns, Tammy Heckford, Toni Harrell, Rebecca Walding, Micki Jolie, Emily Brumfield, Daniel Brumfield, Gregory Brumfield; eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Mabel Strong Ford; parents, Ross S. and Addie Mae Ford; two brothers, Walter E. Ford, Jack Lindsey and a sister, Mary Louise Butler. Serving as pallbearers are: Eugene Franklin, John Bentley, Jim Merritt, Jared Merritt, David Hayes, Jimmy Moeller, Jerry Moeller and John Green. Honorary pallbearers are: The Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church and Dr. Carter Cox. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at First United Methodist Church.
