Obituary of Ivern David "Nubbin" Gilbreath

Funeral services for Ivern David "Nubbin" Gilbreath, age 82, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette and Rev. Dale Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Gilbreath, a resident of Collinston, LA, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009. He was born June 15, 1926 in Newellton, LA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Gilbreath was a retired International Paper Company employee where he was known by his co-workers as "Brother-In-Law". He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Gilbreath is preceded in death by his parents, Clara & Ben Gilbreath; brothers, John Gilbreath, Clarence Gilbreath, Earl Gilbreath; sisters, Polly Dacus, Evelyn Franklin; and grandson, Ashley Gilbreath. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roselene Gilbreath; son, Wayne Gilbreath and wife Marilyn of Collinston, LA; daughters, Susie Walters and husband Harry of Thibodaux, LA, Sherry Lane and husband David of Choudrant, LA, Debbie Fontenot of Collinston, LA; four grandchildren, Brandon Gilbreath of Collinston, LA, Scott Walters of Thibodaux, LA, Tammie McCaa of Rayville, LA, Deena Nobles of Hattiesburg, MS; ten great grandchildren; and brother, Billy Gilbreath and wife Joan of Bastrop, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Corporal Rob McCaa, Brandon Gilbreath, Scott Walters, David Lane, Mike Ostteen, and Lloyd Harrell.
