Obituary of Roger Dale Johnson

Funeral services for Roger Dale Johnson, age 56, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday April 22, 2006 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Speer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday April 20, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital. He was retired from International Paper Company and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his son, Jeremiah Johnson, and father, Alfred Wesley Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Jacob Johnson; daughters, Jessica Johnson Hammersla & husband Joe of Bossier City, LA, Megan Johnson of Bastrop; grandchildren, Tyler Johnson, Aislynn Johnson, Bryce Dew Johnson; step grandson, Layton Hammersla; mother, Billie Faye Johnson of Bastrop; sisters, Charlotte Freeland & husband Richard of Kennewick, WA, Deborah Rice & husband Tommy of Raymond, MS; brothers, Don Wesley Johnson & wife Betty of Bastrop, Michael Dean Johnson & wife Brenda of Texarkana, TX; several nieces, nephews & friends. Pallbearers will be John White, Jimmy White, Robert Burge, John Goudeau, Donald Sasser, and Harold Telano. Honorary pallbearer will be Chester Pipes.
