Graveside funeral services for Mr. Robert L. Sims, Sr., age 73, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Christ Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Sims, a truck driver, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009. He had served in the Louisiana National Guard and was a resident of Bastrop. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Vonnetta Sims.
He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Sims, Jr. of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Betty Kelley and husband Hugh of Bastrop, LA, Rose Carter and husband Johnny of Collinston, LA; four brothers, Charles Sims and wife Laticia of Dickerson, TX, James "Jr." Sims and wife Patti of Bastrop, Don Sims of Dallas, TX, Jimmy Dale Sims and wife Nancy of Bakersfield, CA; and granddaughter, Nicolle Sims of Monroe, LA.
