Obituary of Lena Gay Heath Emanuel

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Gay Heath Emanuel, age 79, are schedulded for 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Branch President Ronald Oden officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2009 at the church. Mrs. Emanuel, a homemaker, and a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Edward Emanuel; her parents, Leonard Coleman Heath, Sr. and Alice Beatrice Copeland; brothers, M.L. Moore, Leonard Coleman Heath, Jr.; and a special nephew, Louie Emanuel. Mrs. Emanuel is survived by her daughter, Glenda Porter and husband Richard of Gonzales, LA; her son Glynn Edward Emanuel of Bastrop; three grandchildren, John Savage and fiance Barbara Ann Fortune of Bastrop, LA, Debra Fortune and husband Lee of Bastrop, LA, Jennifer Savage and fiance Chris Hedger of Baton Rouge, LA; eight great grandchildren, Jason Allen Fortune, Ashton Heath Fortune, Brandon Lee Fortune, Kamron Lane Fortune, Ashley Diane Fortune, Karlie Grace Savage, all of Bastrop, LA, Darren Pruitt and Wesley Pruitt, both of Crossett, AR; one sister, Betty Graves and husband Jesse of Queen City, TX; one sister-in-law, Violet Ann Heath of West Monroe, LA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, scores of friends; and a special nephew, Leroy Emanual. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Fortune, Leonard Graves, Bobby Priest, Bruce Humphrey, and Mitch Hester.
