Obituary of Christine Burson Warner

Funeral services for Christine Burson Warner are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Hillview Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. R.H. McCuin officiating. Burial will follow in the Warner Cemetery in Bastrop, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Mrs. Warner, 89, was born June 19, 1920 in Strong, Arkansas. She died August 17, 2009 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care in Bastrop. She was a member of Hillview Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Warner was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Lawanda Watson of Mer Rouge, LA, Christine Davis of Augusta, GA; two sons, Louis Wayne Warner, Sr. and Gary Layne Warner, Sr. both of Bastrop, LA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren; two sisters, Reba Jane Squyers of Norphlet, AR, Ann Sutton of Corpus Christi, TX and sister in-law, Reba Burson of Strong, AR. Mrs. Warner is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Louis Boren Warner; daughter, Sula Henrietta Warner Christmas; two brothers and two sisters. Serving as pallbearers will be: Louis Wayne Warner, Jr., Gary Layne Warner, Jr., Kelly Winnon, Jeff Winnon, Randy Christmas, Brett Evans, Brannon Smith, Logan Stanley, Matthew Campbell and Clay Winnon. Honorary pallbearers are: Lyle Hopkins and John Edwards. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Lyon, Cherry Ridge Guest Care and her hospice nurses who cared for her. Your thoughtfulness and kindness will always be remembered and appreciated.
