Obituary of Jr. Nelson

Funeral services for Mr. Austin Stanley Nelson, Jr., 62, of Wilmot, AR, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment will be conducted at Forrest Lawn Cemetery (Slidell, LA) at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson, the longtime owner and operator of A&R Construction and Nelson Construction, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at his residence in Wilmot. He was born in Goodwill, LA, September 1, 1947, to parents Austin S. Nelson, Sr. and Ida Nelson. He later served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Rita Nelson; daughters, Nelda Nelson Harvey and husband Steven of Wilmot, AR, Connie S. Marten and husband Wade of Nashville, IL; son, Rickey Nelson, Sr. and Vicki Simmons of Wilmot, AR; mother, Ida Tyson of Poplarville, MS; sister, Wanda Lauga of Slidell, LA; brother, Milo Nelson of Poplarville, MS; twelve grandchildren; special friend, Anna Betty Martin; and six nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Austin S. Nelson, Sr. and grandson, Brien Gibson. Serving as pallbearers are, Howard Townsend, Scott Hall, Billy Hall, Kenny Mitchell, Mike Harper and Rickey D. Nelson, Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Kenneth Austin Mitchell.
