Obituary of Marion Bankson

Funeral services for Marion Bankson, age 60, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday September 10, 2009, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Gary Bankson officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove South Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Bankson, a resident of Bastrop passed away Monday September 7, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Bankson served for 4 years in the United States Airforce, was a retired state trooper and served as chief deputy for the Morehouse Sheriff's Department. Mr. Bankson was preceded in death by his father, Stafford Bankson. Mr. Bankson is survived by his mother, Ruby Bankson of Houma, LA; two sons, Justin Bankson, Chantz Bankson, both of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Sallie Peters of Houma, LA, Carolyn Cox of Hicks, LA; one brother, Bobby Bankson of Friendswood, TX; and a granddaughter, Nadalea Bostick.
