Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Erline Naff Brown, 92, resident of Oak Woods Home for the Elderly, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Revs. Kevin Sanders and J.E. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.
Mrs. Brown, a homemaker and member of Hughes Chapel Methodist Church, passed away Tuesday at Oak Woods. She was active in many community activities and was an avid gardner.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha "Molly" Galloway of Farmerville, LA; two sons, Dewey Allen Brown and wife Nancy S. of Bastrop, LA, James Maurice "Bo" Brown and wife Sharon Gayle of Bastrop, LA; sister, Anna Orene Hammonds of Bastrop, LA; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Edward Brown; son, Gene Edward Brown; parents, Jack Allen Naff and Ruby Newman Naff; three brothers and two sisters.
Serving as pallbearers are: Tommy Ratcliff, Jason Duncan, Dennis Galloway, Bobby Brown, James Newton Hammond and Derrall Naff.
Honorary pallbearers are: Allen Lane Galloway, Sammy Galloway, Allen Michael Brown, Ervin Evans, Ray Evans, Marvin Barr Perry and William Edward Hammond.
Memorials may be made to Hughes Chapel Methodist Church, the Alzheimers Association or your charity of choice.
