Obituary of Mazie Kate McIntyre Greenwood

Funeral services for Mrs. Mazie Kate McIntyre Greenwood, age 89, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday October 16, 2009 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Franklin Parish. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Greenwood, a resident of Bastrop, and retired from Single Service, passed away Tuesday October 13, 2009 at Lagniappe Health Care. She was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church, and loved the outdoors, working in her flower garden and traveling. Mrs. Greenwood was preceded in death by her husband, Barben Burt Greenwood; parents, Ernest Rufus McIntyre and Mary Viola Lord McIntyre; two sisters, Norvelle McIntyre Searcy, Mary Bell McIntyre; two brothers, Frellson McIntyre, and Earnest "Ned" McIntyre. Mrs. Greenwood is survived by one son, Larry Greenwood and wife Pauline of Bastrop; one brother, John Patterson McIntyre of Bastrop; four grandchildren, Barben Bryan Greenwood and wife Amanda of Bastrop, JoLynn Musgrove and husband Marc of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Kristi Greenwood Powell and husband Joe of Bastrop, Chad Adron Greenwood and wife Ginger of Bastrop; six greatgrandchildren, Nikki Greenwood Johnson and husband Robert, Whitney Greenwood Kohanek, Michael Musgrove, Mallory Powell, Ross Barben Powell, Adron Taylor Greenwood; one great great grandson, Noah David Kohanek and several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbeareres will be Bryan Greenwood, Chad Greenwood, Adron Greenwood, Joe Powell, Robert Johnson and Roger McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary McIntyre, Kary McIntyre and Rufus Searcy.
