Obituary of William Jeffery Duncan

Funeral services for Mr. William Jeffery Duncan, age 69, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday October 31, 2009 at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. A.J. Fulton, Rev. James Hawthorne and Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in McKnight Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church. Mr. Duncan, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Thursday October 29, 2009 at his residence. He was a member of United Pentecostal Church, and retired from International Paper Company after twenty two years. Mr. Duncan is preceded in death by his parents, James E. Duncan and Catherine Duncan; sisters, Alice Carroll, Frankie Lou Stevenson; brothers, Edward Eugene "Toby" Duncan, James Edward Duncan, Jr.; and a nephew, Richard Wilson. Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carra McKnight Duncan; two daughters, Dana Duncan Fulton and husband Rev. Dwight Fulton of Bastrop, LA, Melanie Rawls and husband Heath of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Jayla Fulton Odom and husband Benny, Kayla Fulton Barton and husband David, Madalynn Fulton, Duncan Tyler Rawls, Victor Kyle Rawls; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Benny Odom, David Barton, Joel Beal, Joe Brodnax, Thomas Richard, and Carl McGaha. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Hodge, Jerry Barton, Doug Barton, Allen Brown, Kenneth Wells, and Desmond Trichell.
