Obituary of Maggie Emma Carter

Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Emma Carter, age 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday November 1, 2009, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. James Moffett officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Crossett, AR under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter, a resident of Bastrop and retired from Morehouse Parish School Board passed away Friday October 30, 2009 at Morehouse General Hospital. Mrs. Carter was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs Carter is preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Dale Carter; and her husband of 51 years, Ben T. Carter. Mrs. Carter is survived by three daughters, Joyce McLeland and husband Danny of Russellville, AR, Amy Womack and husband Billy of Mer Rouge, Judy Doles and husband Heath of Bastrop; one son, Benjie Carter and Elaine Reynolds of Bastrop; two sisters, Ola Mae Hodge of Spencer, Barbara Cox and husband Barney of Gonzales; three brothers, Donald Cox and wife Hazel of Bastrop, Herman Cox of Bastrop, Lawrence Cox and wife Sue of Bonita; special sister in law, Monnie Faye Cox of Bastrop; twelve grandchildren, John Johnson and wife Kristy of Bastrop, Nickalaus Johnson and wife April of Bastrop, Chad Womack and wife Ashley of Bastrop, LA, Joey McLeland and wife Martie of Russellville, AR, Justin McLeland and wife Lindsey of Russellville, AR, Josh McLeland and wife Meagan of Russellville, AR, Matt Carter and wife Courtnie of Bastrop, LA, Whitney Carter of Monroe, LA, Zach Laing of Bastrop, LA, Bethany Laing of Bastrop, LA, Kurstie Doles of Bastrop, Dana Gavin and husband Roy of West Monroe, LA; eleven great grandchildren, Morgan Schmoll, Lorie Schmoll, D.J. McLeland, Trevor McLeland, Whitney McLeland, Haley McLeland, Carter McLeland, Holleigh Johnson, Brooklyn Johnson, McKenzie Gunter, Kaylan Gunter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Joey McLeland, Justin McLeland, Josh McLeland, John Johnson, Nickalaus Johnson, Matt Carter, Zach Laing, and Chad Womack. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. E.D. Baker.
