Obituary of Charles L. "Buddy" Bryant

Funeral services for Charles L. "Buddy" Bryant, 81, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Yocum and Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Bryant passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Lagniappe Health Care. He was a native of Bastrop, a graduate of Bastrop High School and Northeast Louisiana University. He was a member of Mt. Gerzim Masonic Lodge and U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Bryant was a retired accountant with International Paper Company. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Yates Bryant; daughter, Karen Abernathy and husband Kenneth; two sons, Charles Franklin Bryant and wife Linda, and Daniel Lee Bryant; two sisters, Jimmie Bryant Peters and Valerie Vancleave; six grandchildren, Jeremy Bryant, Justin Bryant, Kenneth Wayne Phillips, Jr., Charles Matthew Phillips, Cindy Reynolds, Hali Colleen Bearden; and six great grandchildren, Ashton Reynolds, Tyler Reynolds, Emily Phillips, Loren Phillips, Matthew Phillips, and Luke Phillips. Mr. Bryant is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Bettie Jean Tull Bryant; father, Charles F. Bryant; mother, Cleo Childress Bryant; brothers, Johnny Bryant, R.H. Bryant, James Cecil Bryant; sisters, Omega Bryant Dixon, Hazel Marie Bryant, Nina Mae Bryant; and twin sister, Francis Bryant West. Serving as pallbearers will be Max Lucas, Wayne Goyne, Quenton Burchfield, Harry Mayo, James Cummins, and Don Wills. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Canfield and Felton Dark. Mr. Bryant's family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Robert Lyon, Premier Hospice, and the entire staff of Lagniappe Health Care for the devoted care recieved by Mr. Bryant.
