Obituary of Glen Russell

Mr. Glen Russell, age 87, of Bastrop, LA, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Desoto in Southaven, Mississippi. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until service time Sunday. Mr. Russell was born June 20, 1922. He was a retired employee of International Paper Company, U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, 50 year member of Mt. Gerzim Masonic Lodge and member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He also enjoyed doing local carpentry work. Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his wife, Frances C. Russell, who died January 25, 2009. He leaves behind one sister, Billie Sue Hink of Mobile, AL and several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are: Gerald Young, Jimmy Clark, Kelly Smith, John Smith, Chad Womack and Jerry Deville.
