Graveside services for Mrs. Ethel Mae Tankersley, age 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Britt Dupree, Rev. James Moffett and Rev. Roger Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tankersley, a resident of Bastrop, and a homemaker, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Morehouse General Hospital. Mrs. Tankersley was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Tankersley; two sons, Jimmy Tankersley, Harold Tankersley, Jr.; two sons-in-law, Daniel Burks, Don Butler; two grandsons, Harold Dean Tankersley, Donald Winter Butler; five sisters; and two brothers.
Mrs. Tankersley is survived by two daughters, Martha Tankersley Whitaker and husband Charles of Bastrop, LA, Dianne Tankersley Butler of Pine Bluff, AR; one sister, Irene Mason of Crossett, AR; seven grandchildren, Dana Lynn Burks, Darla Tankersley Dunlap and husband Roger, Ray Tankersley, Phillip Tankersley, Mark Tankersley, Cynthia Butler, Anita Butler; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and two daughters-in-law, Kathy Tankersley and Ann Tankersley.
Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Jordan, Ben Jordan, Tyler Dunlap, Kenneth Phillips, Darty Vinson, and Charles L. Whitaker.
