Obituary of Eddie Leroy Jaggers

Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Leroy Jaggers, 67, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Black and Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Jaggers, a retired Millwright of 39 years for International Paper Company, passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at his residence. He was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church for 55 years where he served as a deacon, and had taught Sunday School for years. Mr. Jaggers loved to grow daylillies, haul scrap metal and hunt. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Barbara LaFran Jaggers; daughter, Tammy Wells and husband Chip of Sterlington, LA; son, Marvin Jaggers and wife Angela of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Marcelle Hartley of Bastrop, Sherry Gregory and husband Gene of Monticello, AR; grandchildren, Alexis Wells, Joshua Wells, Chelsea Jaggers and Maverick Jaggers. Mr. Jaggers is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ovie Jaggers; brother, Kenneth Trantham and sister, Chrystene Daugherty. Pallbearers will be: Thomas Atkins, Buford Benson, Derrell Bray, Charles Burns, Jerry Coley, Steve Dupree, Tommy Eldridge, Doyle Murphy, Roy Dean Sisson and Willie Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be: the Deacons of Bonita Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the church.
