Funeral services for Mr. James Wooten, 74, of Collinston, LA are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove South Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Wooten, a retired carpenter and member of Harmony Baptist Church died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at his residence. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his children, James "Randy" Wooten and wife Mary of Bastrop, LA, Karen Wilhite and husband Mike of Collinston, LA; brother, David Wooten; three sisters, Mattie Clingan, Rachael Gray, Joyce Kirkley; five grandchildren, Brandon Wooten, Erin Wooten, Catherine Wooten, Kegan Wilhite, Baylee Wilhite and two step grandchildren, Ann Marie Chappell and Buster Guice.
Mr. Wooten is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Wooten Hampton and a sister, Celeste Brown Cliburn.
Serving as pallbearers are: Ricky Glass, Bennie Glass, David (Bubba) Cliburn, William Gorman, Elton Ray Gray, Kevin Stephens and Hoss Kirkley.
Honorary pallbearers are: Chuck Lord, Winn Lively, Robert Gray, Wayne Allen Gray, Carl Wood, Ralph Porter and Harold Flowers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Harmony Baptist Church.
