Obituary of James LeRoy Wilson

Funeral services for Mr. James LeRoy Wilson, age 76, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Hawkins and Rev. Cecil Gregory officiating. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson was a retired employee of 40 years with International Paper Company and member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He was born October 24, 1933 in Shelton, LA and died Monday, February 1, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nadine Barr Wilson; three daughters, Deborah Byrd and husband Audis of Big Sandy, TX, Pat Vaccari and husband Chris of Covington, LA, Cathy Tucker and husband Mike of Hot Springs, AR; son, Jonathan B. Wilson of Bastrop, LA; eleven grandchildren, Brandon Byrd, Lt. Andrew Byrd, Amanda Thomas and husband Les, Ashley Little, John Charles Sampognaro, Gabriel Sampognaro, Mary Kate Tucker, Alex Tucker, Jennifer Henson and husband Dane, Jonathan Wilson, David Wilson.; four great grandchildren, Baylee Henson, Blaz Henson, Joseph Blane Henson, L.J. Wilson; three sisters in law, Bettie Wilson, Betty Hawkins, Bonnie Breithaupt and husband Robert; brother in law, Bobby Barr and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clotile Wilson and a brother, Earl Wilson. Serving as pallbearers are: John Charles Sampognaro, Gabriel Sampognaro, Brandon Byrd, Andrew Byrd, Chris Hawkins and Corey Hawkins. Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Ridge Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
