Obituary of Pervis Miles Hooter

Funeral services for Mr. Pervis Miles Hooter, 86, of Zwolle, LA, formerly of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Yocum officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hooter, a retired employee of International Paper Company, member of the Quarter Century Club and member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, LA.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty Griffis and husband Calvin of Crossett, AR., Joyce Hughes and husband Ronald of Zwolle, LA; two sisters, Lucy Layton of New Jersey, Mary Shows of Swartz, LA; brother, Jake Hooter of Waverly, LA; six grandchildren, Doris Baxter, Robert Griffis, Shelvia Ross, Pamela Holland, Rhonda Meek, Ronald Hughes II; ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Mr. Hooter is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Evon Sisk Hooter.
Serving as pallbearers will be: James Whittington, James Anders, Edward Bain, Harry Mayo, Marshall Stephens and Sam Turner.
Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Craig.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday at Golden Funeral Home.
