Obituary of Stanley Byron Williams

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Stanley Byron Williams, age 78, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Pine Grove South Cemetery with Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Mr. Williams, a retired Captain of 22 years with the Bastrop Police Department and Security Guard with 16 years at International Paper Company, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007 at LeGrand Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church and was past commander of American Legion Post # 51. He also served in the U. S. Air Force as a military police officer during World War II. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lee Blood Williams; daughter, Jan Patterson and husband Jeff of West Monroe, LA; sons, Guy Williams and wife Barbara of Monroe, LA, Byron Williams and wife Vanessa of FL; Jeffery Williams and wife Kathy of West Monroe, LA, Nelson Anderson and wife Liz of Bastrop, LA, Roger Anderson of Bastrop, LA; sister, Marion Williams Holsonbake and husband Fred of Washington State; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mildred Williams; son, Steve Anderson; brothers, Phillip and Don Williams. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Monday at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services are under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
