Obituary of Julian Wayne Oglesby

Funeral services for Mr. Julian Wayne Oglesby, 67, of Bastrop are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, February 15, 2010 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Lloyd Townsend officiating, assisted by Rev. Andy Myrick. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Oglesby passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his residence. He was a general mechanic at International Paper Company and member of New Friendship Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Oglesby; daughter, Nicki Oglesby Soileau of Rayville, LA; son, Darren Wayne Oglesby and wife Tracy of Monroe, LA; sister, Debbie Johnston and husband Jerry of Sicily Island, LA; brother, Gary Don Oglesby of Swartz, LA; grandchildren, Cole Wayne Soileau, Maci Daye Soileau , Cason McKinley Oglesby, Cameron Sage Oglesby and Kendal Skye Oglesby. Mr. Oglesby is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harvey Bell and Julian Marshall Oglesby; brother, James Oglesby and sister, Maudie Fitch. Serving as pallbearers will be; the 1963 Rayville Hornets football team, including Charlie Gammill, Billy Ray Gammill, Jimmy Kennedy and Bobby Oswald, also serving will be David Carter Cox and Stephen Carter Cox. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
