Obituary of Mildred Edwards

Funeral services for Mildred Tilbury Edwards, 83, of Bonita, La. will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the Bonita First Baptist Church with Revs. Steve Speer, Andy Myrick and Royce Christmas officiating. Interment will be in the Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, Arkansas under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Edwards, a retired school teacher in Louisiana and Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Monroe. She was the owner of Yesteryear Antiques in Mer Rouge, a member and Sunday School teacher at Bonita First Baptist Church, a member of the WMU, the Order of the Eastern Star (Chapter 148 - Mer Rouge), and numerous civic organizations. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Toft and husband Mike, three sons, Orval LeRon Edwards and wife Judy of Swartz, LA, Jonathan D. Edwards and wife Donna of Mer Rouge, LA, Douglas Tilbury Edwards and wife Teresa of Sterlington, LA; three sisters in-law, Helen Tilbury of Decatur, AL, Essie Edwards Hudson of Bastrop, LA, Dorothy Edwards of Erwinville, LA; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Orval LeVon Edwards; parents, Dennie Darius Tilbury and Mary Jessup Tilbury; and four brothers, Albert, Edbert, Leroy and Frank Tilbury. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Lance Edwards, Bradley Toft, Joel Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Samuel Edwards and Jared Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Toft, Kurt Diel and Sean Diel. Visitation will be held Friday September 17, 2004 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bonita First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society - Morehouse Parish.
