Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" R. White, 84, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. William Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove South Cemetery.
Mrs. White, a retired employee of the Louisiana Welfare Department and member of First Baptist Church passed away July 22, 2006 at her residence. After retirement, she worked part time at City Hall in the Mayor's office and at the Snyder Museum. She was a Notary Public for many years and served as Chaplain in the American Legion Ladies Auxillary.
Mrs. White is survived by three daughters, Sally Hill and husband Wayne of Magee, MS, Judy Roberts and husband Glen of Bastrop, LA, Lisa White and Fiance' Richard Burkeen of Little Rock, AR; son, J.J. White of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren, Liz Allen and husband Jeremy, Kevin Hill and wife Christy, Cameron McAlpin and husband Tom, Donna Robbins and husband Dennis, Traci Gross and husband Keith; nine great grandchildren, Alyssa and Abby Allen, Trey McAlpin, Bethany and Emily Hill, Kelsey Oliphant, Sam Robbins, Christian and Emilee Gross, one great great grandchild, Blake Oliphant; Aunt, Gladys Smith of Monroe, LA; numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces, Sara Tiner, Fannie Favre, Lynn Davis; devoted friends, Carol Carter, Sue McKoin, Doris Rainwater and lifelong friend, Nell Elkins of Columbia, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Fannie Coker of Columbia, MS; husband, Jude White and grandson, Glen Edward Roberts, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers are: Blaze Domino, Gary White, Keith Gross, Paul Domino, Kevin Hill and Kenneth White.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lukemia Society of America.
