Obituary of Berylynn Spyker

Please share a memory of Berylynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Wednesday August 2, 2006 our beloved Mother and Grandmother Berylynn was called home to heaven. She was an inspiration to all and a gem sent down from the Father above. A living example of how to truly love. She always had time to listen, which drew all very near and gave every heart cheer. She knew how to reap and to sow-and she surely knew how to make the beautiful flowers grow. She was the glue that held the family together and a constant guide without measure. A legacy of love she leaves for us; an order to forgive, not a suggestion, but a must. She has been chosen to go, but we must stay until we see her again on that great day. Berylynn Peters Spyker was born May 10, 1928 in Morehouse Parish. She was the daughter of Fritz Fredrick and Pearl Olivia Taylor Peters. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Henry (Billy) Spyker; a brother-in-law, Howard Buffington, Sr.; a son-in-law, Claude Taylor; a granddaughter-in-law, Tammy Turner Freeland; and a grandson-in-law, Randal J. Lavergne. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and Sunny South #12 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by one son and two daughters, Jimmy Don Spyker, Jo Ann Spyker, Theresa Lynn Spyker Taylor, all of Bastrop; five grandchildren, Billy Don Spyker & wife Holly of Bastrop, Lisa LeBlanc & husband Freddie of Carlyss, Willis Freeland & wife Kathy of West Monroe, Wendy Doucet & husband Edward of Italy, and Tommy Freeland of Bastrop; eight great grandchildren, Nicholas Freeland, Joshua Doucet, Damian Doucet, Lauren Doucet, Chandler Freeland, Austin Ashley, Hanna Spyker, John William Spyker; three step-great grandchildren, Dominic LeBlanc, Ben Russell, Madeline Russell; one step-great great grandchild, Ella Grace Russell; two sisters and two brothers, Billy Peters & wife Jimmie of Lake Charles, Danny Peters & wife Helen, Fritzie Buffington, Mary Duncan & husband Ben, all of Bastrop.
