Funeral services for Barbara Powell Evans, age 34, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery, Beekman. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Barbara, a resident of Bastrop, passed away March 17, 2010. She was employed as an LPN at Oakwoods Home for the Elderly in Mer Rouge. She loved her children, family, and her patients at Oak Woods. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Susie & Milton Powell, Herbert & Margie Ponthieux, and Bonnie Evans.
Barabara is survived by her parents, Ronnie & Cathy Powell of Perry, FL, and Mary Jane Estes of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; grandfather, Ron Evans of Monroe, LA; four daughters, Ariel Evans, Amber Evans, Alexandra Evans, Daijah Setzer, all of Bastrop; father of her children, Anthony Evans of Bastrop, LA; two sisters, Kayla Krug of Crowley, LA, April Gray of Perry, FL; two brothers, Joshua Powell of Rome, GA, and Chad Powell of Florida.
