Funeral services for Mrs. Lonnie Lucile McMichael Green, 93, of Columbia, TN, formerly of Bastrop, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark B. Benge, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green, a native of Castor, La., was born to the late John Jacob McMichael and Annie Campbell McMichael of Bienville Parish. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University and taught elementary school at Castor, Baton Rouge and Bastrop where she made her home from 1940 until she moved to Columbia in 2002 to be near her daughter. She was a member of the Literary Forum, Order of the Eastern Star, past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, First United Methodist Church of Columbia, TN and First United Methodist Church of Bastrop, where she served on numerous committees and was a life member and past president of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Green is survived by her daughter, Shannon Arnett and son-in-law William F. "Bill" Arnett of Columbia, TN; two grandsons, Mark Fowler Arnett and wife Lisa of Florence, AL, John William Arnett and wife Angela of Cookeville, TN; four great grandchildren, Seth Fowler Arnett, Benjamin Arthur Arnett, Lonnie William Arnett, and Mattie Grace Arnett.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Arthur N. Green who died February 5, 2003 and two brothers, John Lee McMichael and Ronald McMichael.
Serving as pallbearers are: Mark Arnett, John Arnett, Sam Williams, Jim Bickley, Eugene Franklin, Gale Garrett, Dr. John Garrett and Bob Green.
Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Carter Cox, Douglas Bickley, George Smith, Mike Bell and members of the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Bastrop.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Golden Funeral Home.
