Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lee Burnette, age 90, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. James Moffett officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burnette, a resident of Bastrop, a mother and a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Morehouse General Hospital. Mrs. Burnette was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hollis Hill, Joseph Davidson, and Floyd Burnette; parents, Rev. Walter and Callie Braswell; a daughter, Sylvia Milton; a grandson, Baby Darrin Milton; brothers and sisters, Walter Braswell, Jr., Dwaine Braswell, Jessie Braswell, Lucille Lee, Lavern Woodall, Dell Hyman; and a son-in-law, Gary Milton.
Mrs. Burnette is survived by one daughter, (Reba) Sue Maxwell; two sons, Jerry Davidson and wife Norma, Kenneth Davidson and wife Louise; one sister, Shirley Burge and husband Ed; one sister-in-law, Edith Braswell; 12 grandchildren, Jerry C. Davidson, Shane Davidson, Lauralee Davidson, Terri Trokey, Lea Anne Weigel, Timothy Maxwell, Joseph Davidson, Michael Strange, Brad Wimbish, Rusty Wimbish, Nikki Wimbish, Kristy Milton, Kim Cummins; and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
