Graveside services for Mr. Norman "Brownie" Cecil Braxton, 90, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Mr. Braxton, a retired Construction Superintendant from International Paper Company and Boiler Maker Local 112 of Mobile, Al, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Morehouse General Hospital. He also was a member of the Masonic Wahabi Temple of Jackson, MS. He is survived by daughter, Dianne Braxton Wilder of Vicksburg, MS; two sons, James Norman Braxton of Bastrop, LA, David L. Braxton of Jackson, MS; two sisters, Joyce Raborn of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Frances Youngerman of Nashville, TN; two brothers, William C. Braxton of Pace, FL, Clyde Braxton and family of Anniston, AL; six grandchildren, Edgar P. Coltharp III of Eagle Rock, Alaska, Meghan Smith of Austin, TX, Lakey Wilder of Vicksburg, MS, Wendi Sibley of Jackson, MS, Kristy Johnson of Bastrop, LA, Amanda Braxton of Mobile, AL; eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Braxton is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. W.C. and Mrs. Mabel Braxton of Evergreen, AL; his wife Josephine Moiree Braxton; daughter, Carol Ann Coltharp; granddaughter, Kelli Leigh Braxton; daughter-in-law, Brenda Mardis Braxton; son-in-law, LeGrand Wilder and brother, Wayne Braxton. Honorary pallbearers are Edgar P. Coltharp III, Lakey Wilder, John Johnson, Jason Sibley, Christopher Smith and Terry Braxton. Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2006 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
