Obituary of Nathan Turner

Funeral services for Mr. Nathan Turner, age 71, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Chaplain Milton Pray officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his residence. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the NRA and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Turner is preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Turner and Gary Turner; sister, Darlene Turner; and his parents, Kermit and Winnie Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Claudette Turner; four daughters, Sandra Hughes and husband Todd of Bastrop, LA, Karen Kelley and husband Tommy of West Monroe, LA, Julie Turner McLeod of Bastrop, LA, Shelly Turner and fiance Cody Reaves of Bastrop, LA; son, David Turner of Fayetteville, AR; four brothers, Kenneth Turner of St. Charles, AR, Larry Turner of Gillette, AR, Ray Turner of Dewitt, AR, Roy Gene Turner of St. Charles, AR; sister, Sue Henderson Coit of Almyra, AR; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Hughes, Corey McLeod, Steven McLeod, Kaleb Fowler, Damon Fowler, Donnie Costin, Bo Ramsey, and Tommy Kelley.
