Obituary of Benjamin "Frank" Martin

Funeral services for Mr. Benjamin "Frank" Martin, age 87, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Martin, a resident of Bastrop and Retired Superintendent of Morehouse Parish Highway Department, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Morehouse General Hospital. Mr. Martin was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Martin served his country in the Army during World War II. He is preceded in death by two sons, John Martin and David Martin. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ethel Mixon Martin; one son B.F. "Ben" Martin and wife Cindy of Monroe, LA; daughter-in-law, Becky Fontenot and husband Mike of Sulphur, LA; one brother-in-law, Billy Keys of Lafayette, LA; two sisters-in-law, Johnny Kinnaird of Bastrop, LA, Laverne McDougald and husband Bo of Sulphur, LA; one grandson, David Martin and wife Tiffany of Sulphur, LA; one great grandson, John David Martin; two step grandchildren, Jack Bradley, Krista Pearson; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Cherry Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
