Funeral services for Dorothy Lee Adair, 89, of Bastrop are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Ramon Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time.
Mrs. Dorothy was born February 10, 1921 near Rayville, LA to the late Robert Radford Adair and Marguerette Giesick Adair Hoskins. She passed from this life to her Heavenly home on May 1, 2010 at Lagniappe Health Care.
Mrs. Adair was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for many years. She was a retired employee of International Paper Company in the finishing room department and enjoyed being a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #2277 and also of the Ladies Auxiliary to the American Legion Scott Hood Post #51.
Mrs. Adair enjoyed working in her yard and loved her flowers. She always had a vegetable patch which she shared very generously with all her friends. She loved making jellies and giving them away. Mrs. Dorothy always had a pot of coffee for her many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joe Adair.
Mrs. Adair is survived by her two children, Donald Wilson and his wife Louise, Ollie Faye Turnbow Canfield and her husband Charles, both of Bastrop; four grandchldren, Debbie Wilson of Bastrop, Donna Anderson of West Monroe, Owen Canfield of Crossett, AR; Cathy Hays of Oak Ridge and five great grandchildren; brother, Carl Ray Adair and his wife Marie and sister, Martile Yeldell and her husband J.W.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Charles Wright, Mike Adair, Bob Hollingsworth, Larry Ryder and Ricky Yeldell.
Honorary pallbearers are James Yeldell and Ernest Rainbolt.
Her family would like to thank all her faithful caregivers from Lagniappe Health Care and Premier Hospice. We love and appreciate each of you.
