Obituary of Hilda Mae Price Jeane

Hilda Mae Price Jeane, age 97, died Monday September 11, 2006. She was born in Bogue Chitto, MS in 1909 and then moved to Leesville, LA where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1928. She married and moved to Bastrop in 1929 where she raised her family and lived her entire life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Almer A. "Pete" Jeane in 1974 and her daughter Betty Rae George and husband E.P. of Monroe in 2005. She is survived by one son, Joseph A. "Buddy" Jeane & wife Martha of Mobile, AL; four grandchildren, Gale Higgins of Terre Haute, IN, Paul George & wife Sonja of Farmerville, LA, Laura Jeane Dankewich & husband Clay of Cumming, GA, and Ryan Jeane and wife Michelle of Mobile, AL; and eight great grandchildren. Hilda was the oldest of two sisters and five brothers who are all deceased except the youngest brother, Wilmer Price and wife Lois of High Point, NC. One deceased brother was Devoy Price and wife Katie Lee Wallace Price of Bastrop. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday September 13, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home with the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Goldens. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Bastrop.
