Funeral services for Juanita Barnes, 78, of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes, retired from International Paper Company, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Morehouse General Hospital.
She is survived by sons, Gene Barnes and wife Susan of Bastrop, LA, Steave Harlon and partner Wes Wise of Oklahoma City, OK, Jesse Barnes and wife Mary and Ricky Barnes and wife Teresa, both of Crossett, AR; brother, Virgil Harlon and wife Nina of Springhill, LA; grandchildren, Eric Barnes, Mathew Barnes, Adrian Barnes, Kristy Barnes, James Barnes, Shane Barnes, Tressie Mills Thomas Barnes; great grandchildren, Lillian Barnes, Alexis Barnes, Chase Mills and Trace Mills.
Mrs. Barnes is preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Edward Barnes; brothers, Charles Harlon, Lee Harlon; sisters, Mertice Harlon, Charlene Harlon and granddaughter, Whitney Barnes.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
