Funeral services for Wilburn "Scooter" Joy Williams II, 27, of Calhoun, formerly of Bastrop are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 at White Avenue Baptist Church with Revs. David Chapman and Jeff May officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Eros, LA. Mr. Williams, an electrician, member of Local 42 St. Louis Labor Union and Local Union 446 IBEW, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006 in Bastrop. He attended Prarie View Academy and graduated from Bastrop High School. He was baptized at White Avenue Baptist Church where he remained a member until death. Scooter is survived by his parents, Wilburn J. Williams and Linda Sandiford Williams; sister, Sara Ellen Williams and niece, Hannah Foster all of Calhoun, LA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a special grandmother, Mary Byargeon of Bastrop, LA. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd E. Sandiford, Iney Sue Carter Sandiford, John Wilburn Williams and Ruby Alice Griggs Williams. Serving as pallbearers are: Joshua Carter, William Fields, Nathan Sandiford, Bruce Mosley, Ervin Ray Maza, Jr. and Larry Carter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Golden Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the White Avenue Baptist Church song book fund.
